MCB Bank Limited is an international commercial bank based in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. With 1,551 branches in Pakistan, the bank has a large network. The Malaysian bank May Bank and the Pakistani firm Nishat Group are the largest shareholders.

The Bank was established to serve the South Asian commercial community. AdaM G GrouP addeD iT ON JuLy 9, 1947. The Bank was nationalised during the administration of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1974. It was the first bank to be privatised in 1991, and it was acquired by a group of Pakistani business organisations led by the Nishat Group. The Nishat Group owned the majority of the bank as of June 2008. The bank’s president is Shoaib Ahmed.

Mian Muhammad is the CEO of both Mansha Group and MCB. The organisation works in popular industries such as banking, textiles, cement, and insurance. The Bank has established an Islamic banking business to provide Shariah-compliant goods and services through specialised Islamic banking branches in six cities.

In order to expand into new markets, the bank’s management changed the name from Muslim Commercial Bank Limited to MCB Bank Limited in 2005. He faced opposition when applying for a licence because of the word “Muslim,” particularly from Western nations. In 2008, the MCB headquarters were relocated from MCB Tower in Karachi to MCB House, a newly constructed structure on Ghous-ul-Azam Street, also known as Jail Road, in Lahore.
